Seniors

The Men's Senior Section is an integral part of the club. Any paid-up 5 or 7 day member of the Ferndown Forest Golf Club, aged 55 or over, is very welcome to join us. The annual subscription payable to the Senior Section is £5.00. The Senior Section is self regulating with its own written constitution. The committee, including the captain, are voted for at the AGM held in The Inn In The Tin in January.

Seniors' competitions are organised to take place every Monday morning from 7.00 am with a regular turn out of approximately 35 to 40 members. The format varies from a Medal to a Texas Scramble and including a good number of Stablefords and Greensomes. All members handicaps are tested in the Medals and Stablefords, which are played off the white tees and scorecards are recorded in the Club Handicap software. Tee times are randomly drawn two weeks in advance to encourage all members to mix and become part of the section.

Sixteen dates are given over to accommodate the playing of eight other local golf clubs on a home and away basis. Each match is followed by a meal. Selection for each match is the sole responsibility of the Seniors Section captain, currently Royston Matthews Tel : 01202 897782.

Throughout the year the Senior Section endeavours to support a charity in a number of competitions and the chosen charity for 2009 is Help the Heroes. New members are always welcome and we guarantee a warm and friendly reception.
